The Boston Celtics took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Dallas Mavericks with a 106-99 win in Game 3 of the NBA Finals in Dallas on Wednesday night. The Celtics, who have now won six straight games in the playoffs, are one win away from their 18th NBA championship.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 26 points, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and Marcus Smart chipped in with 21 points. Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 26 points, but he struggled with his shot, making just 8 of 22 from the field.
The Celtics jumped out to an early lead in the game and never looked back. They led by as many as 16 points in the first half and took a 58-44 lead into the break.
The Mavericks made a run in the third quarter, cutting the Celtics' lead to just five points. But the Celtics responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.
With the win, the Celtics now have a 3-0 lead in the series. They can clinch the championship with a win in Game 4 on Friday night in Dallas.
